United States men's national team midfielder Alejandro Bedoya's deal with the Philadelphia Union was scrapped by his current Ligue 1 club Nantes, Yahoo Sports reported Tuesday.

The Union was set to have their transfer offer accepted by Nantes, but it was abruptly rejected by the French club.

According to the report, Bedoya's deal was worth nearly $1.2 million per year, and had a transfer fee of $1 million for Nantes.

Had the deal been accepted, Bedoya would have joined U.S. teammates Jozy Altidore, Michael Bradley, Clint Dempsey and Mix Diskerud in leaving Europe for MLS.

In February, Bedoya, 28, signed an extension with Nantes through the 2018–19 season.
