U.S. men's national team forward Aron Johannsson tallied his second goal for new club Werder Bremen Tuesday, opening the scoring in its Bundesliga match vs. Darmstadt.

Johannsson, who joined Werder Bremen from AZ Alkmaar in the summer, got on the end of a cross from Theodor Gebre Selassie for a diving header from close range in the 19th minute. Werder Bremen went on to lose the match 2-1.

Johannsson, making his seventh league appearance, had previously scored against Borussia Monchengladbach on Aug. 30 on a penalty kick. He's on U.S. manager Jurgen Klinsmann's 35-man provisional roster for next month's CONCACAF Cup playoff against Mexico and is a likely bet to make the final roster, which is due on Oct. 1.
