Jozy Altidore received a red card while on Toronto FC’s bench for “foul and abusive language.”

The American striker was issued the card and sent off in the 34th minute of Toronto’s match against the New York Red Bulls.

According to reports, Altidore directed his verbal displeasure toward official Daniel Radford, the same referee that angered Clint Dempsey, causing him to rip up his notebook, in June.

Altidore will have to sit out Toronto‘s next match against Columbus Crew.

You can watch the bizarre ejection below.

In the same game, Toronto earned the first playoff berth in club history on Sebastian Giovinco‘s goal.
