Jason Kreis was fired on Monday from his position as NYCFC’s manager.
Jason Kreis was fired from his position as New York City FC’s manager, the club announced Monday.
Kreis’s club failed to make the playoffs by 12 points in its inaugural campaign, and finished in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with a record of 10–17–7.
The club also released assistant coaches Miles Joseph and CJ Brown on Monday.
“The decision to part company with Jason and his team after two years of working together has not been taken lightly and this is a difficult announcement for all involved,” New York City FC president Tom Glick said in a release. “We thank Jason for his passion, his efforts and for his contribution to the historic inaugural season of New York City FC.”
NYCFC also announced it will name its new head coach with ample time to prepare for next season.
