Jozy Altidore passed Brian McBride and is now fourth on the U.S. national team's all-time top scorers list after burying a point-blank header in the first half and scoring again in the second in the Americans' World Cup qualifier against St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Altidore scored his first off a corner kick and was completely unmarked at the back post, giving the United States a 3-1 lead in a game where the Americans surprisingly trailed just five minutes in.

How was Altidore able to get so wide open on the play? Replays showed that a clever run into the goalmouth just before the kick was taken may have had something to do with it:

Altidore followed that up and broke McBride's mark with this nice finish in the second half, after shaking off his defender:

The match is the first in the U.S.'s run of qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
