Watch: Portland’s Dairon Asprilla scores on long-range strike
Portland Timbers forward Dairon Asprilla gave his team a 2–0 lead over FC Dallas in the MLS Western Conference finals with a powerful, curling strike from outside the box.
Early in the second half, Asprilla took advantage of a defensive miscue and bent a long shot from outside the area that found the top left-hand corner of the net, leaving FC Dallas goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez with no chance.
Asprilla, who had not scored since April, also assisted on Portland‘s first goal of the night, getting a head to Darlington Nagbe's corner kick for Liam Ridgewell to tuck home. Watch Asprilla's stunner below:
Portland went on to win 3-1, and the two will meet for the second leg next Sunday in Dallas for a ticket to MLS Cup.
