Tuesday December 8th, 2015

The Houston Dynamo has acquired midfielder Cristian Maidana and attacker Andrew Wenger from the Philadelphia Union, the team announced Monday.

In exchange for Maidana and Wenger, the Union received undisclosed amounts of general and targeted allocation money, as well as a natural first round selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft.

Last season, Maidana, 28, ranked second in the league with 15 assists and 79 chances. In the past two years, Maidana has led the MLS with 26 assists in 54 games.

Wenger, the No. 1 pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft by the Montreal Impact, scored one goal and recorded two assists in 26 games played last season. In 2014, Wenger netted a career-best six goals in 32 appearances.
