Graham Zusi gave the United States a comfortable 3–0 lead with a goal early in the second half.
The United States started the second half of its World Cup qualifier against Guatemala with a bang.
Graham Zusi scored a 46th-minute goal to give the U.S. a 3–0 lead in its do-or-die match against Guatemala. The U.S. entered Tuesday desperately needing a win to keep its World Cup hopes alive.
Zusi scored off a makeshift assist from Gyasi Zardes, whose misplayed touch in the box teed up the goal.
Zusi, who was called on the roster as in injury replacement last weekend, now has three career goals in qualifying play.
