It appears a real MLS rivalry may be brewing in New York.

Ahead of Saturday’s match between NYCFC and the New York Red Bulls at Yankee Stadium, fans of both sides, one way or another, ended up at odds in the streets outside the arena.

Garry Hayes of Bleacher Report UK was on-site and snapped some video of the altercation, which involved police and at one point saw fans needing to be physically separated.

Watch the videos below, which involve fans throwing things and two men nearly coming to blows as policemen intervened.

The Red Bulls scored in the first few minutes of the game for a 1–0 lead.
