Ecuador routs Haiti, will play USA in Copa America quarterfinals

Ecuador made sure there was no drama on Sunday, securing its place in the Copa America quarterfinals with a 4-0 win over Haiti at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
Ecuador needed a win by at least two goals to ensure it made the final eight, and after heavy pressure over the first 10 minutes, Enner Valencia broke through after a set-up from Antonio Valencia. Nine minutes later, Jaime Ayovi scored the vital goal that gave Ecuador its two-goal margin.
Christian Noboa added an insurance goal in the 57th minute, and Antonio Valencia capped the rout, with Enner supplying the pass this time, sending Haiti out with an 0-3-0 record and a -11 goal differential. Ecuador cannot win the group and will face the United States in Thursday's quarterfinal in Seattle.
