Arsenal's Edge in Premier League Prediction Market Surges After First Win

It took just one win for Arsenal to jump above 50% to win the Premier League. Kalshi’s Premier League market continues to push Arsenal after its first win of the season in dominant fashion over Coventry City.

Arsenal’s 52% is 31 percentage points ahead of Manchester City who hold the second-highest price on the board. There are just six teams on the Premier League market who have higher than a 1% price to win. Trading $10 on Arsenal profits $8.59.

Arsenal sees monstrous rise

After opening at 45% to win the EPL, Arsenal rose seven percentage points following a 3-0 win over Coventry City. They dominated from the start as Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka and Martin Ødegaard all scored in the first 50 minutes.

As a team, Arsenal held the possession margin 64% to 36%. They had six shots on goal and completed 92% of passes (561).

Manchester City holds steady despite scare

Manchester City escaped with a scare against Bournemouth after trailing 1-0 until the 84th minute. Marc Guéhi netted the first goal of the season for City and in the first minute of stoppage time, Joško Gvardiol put them ahead.

Possession, shots on goal, accurate passes, and big chances created all leaned Manchester City. Following the win, City’s price remained at 21%.

Manchester United, Spurs fall after losses

Manchester United went into the first game hesitantly towards the top of the board at 9%. They fell to 6% following a 2-0 loss to Hull City who scored both goals in the first half. On paper, Manchester United dominated the possession margin at 72% and had five shots on target with 574 accurate passes (88%).

Tottenham had a similar outing with a 3-0 loss to Brentford despite leading the possession margin and pass accuracy. They had just four shots on goal to Brentford’s eight. The Spurs fell from 4% to 3% following the loss.

The second weekend of Premier League play begins on Friday with Manchester City taking on Crystal Palace. Arsenal finishes the weekend on Monday against Aston Villa.
