NASCAR announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with Comcast to make XFINITY the title sponsor of NASCAR's second-tier racing series through 2024.

The series, known as the NASCAR Nationwide series, will become the NASCAR XFINITY series on January 1, 2015. The series' first title sponsor was Anheuser-Busch.

XFINITY, a Comcast brand, provides phone, internet and tv service to homes in 40 states and the District of Columbia.

"We're proud to welcome XFINITY to the NASCAR community as title sponsor of the NASCAR XFINITY Series for the next decade," said Brian France, NASCAR Chairman & CEO.

NASCAR agreed last year to a 10-year television deal with NBC, mirroring the length of the new sponsor agreement.
