Longtime NHL F Owen Nolan announces retirement

Former San Jose Sharks captain Owen Nolan announced Tuesday that he was retiring from the league, according to NHL.com. Nolan spent 18 seasons as a professional.

"When your body won't do what your mind and your heart is willing to do, it's time to move on," said Nolan, who last played in the NHL with Minnesota in 2009-10. "I've enjoyed every minute of it."

Nolan was named an all star five times in his career, four of which came when he was with the Sharks. His 422 goals is good for 71st all time.
