Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio Will Have Surgery Wednesday On Torn ACL

The Minnesota Timberwolves have set a date for Ricky Rubio's surgery -- the rookie point guard will go under the knife this coming Wednesday to repair the torn ACL in his left knee, the team announced today.

Rubio sustained the injury when he collided with Kobe Bryant in the final 16 seconds of the Wolves' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last Friday. He had to be helped off the floor. The team announced the following day that he was done for the season.

Rubio's surgery will be performed by Dr. Richard Steadman at The Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colo.
