Darren Helm signs four-year Red Wings extension

The Detroit Red Wings announced today that forward Darren Helm has signed a new four-year contract with the team. The Detroit Free Press reports that the deal is worth just over $8 million total, with about $2 million per year counting against the NHL salary cap.
