NHL releases schedule for 2012-13 season

The National Hockey League released its schedule for the 2012-13 season on Thursday, featuring four games on October 11.

Opening night will feature the Boston Bruins visiting the Philadelphia Flyers, then the St. Louis Blues at the Colorado Avalanche. Those games will be televised by NBC Sports Network. CBC will have the Montreal Canadiens at home against the Ottawa Senators then the Vancouver Canucks at the Calgary Flames.

The Stanley Cup winning Los Angeles Kings will begin defense of their title the next night against the New York Rangers.

The Stanley Cup Final rematch between the New Jersey Devils and the Kings will take place February 9 in New Jersey. It's their only meeting of the season.
