Report: Brodeur re-signs with Devils for two years, $9 million

Monday July 2nd, 2012

New Jersey Devils fans can start the week with the good news they were hoping for all weekend.

According to Canada's RDS reporter Renaud Lavoie, future Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur has re-signed with the Devils, the only NHL team for which he has ever played.

Last week it was reported that Brodeur would likely test the free-agent market, but the Devils seemed intent on keeping one of the franchise's biggest stars. At 40 years old, Brodeur's two-year deal will help him push the all-time wins and shutouts records further from reach.
