Coyotes forward prospect Brett MacLean improving after 'cardiac emergency'

Good news out of Ontario, where Phoenix Coyotes forward prospect Brett MacLean's condition has improved after suffering what the team called a "cardiac emergency" on Monday.

“He’s conscious and he’s speaking,” MacLean’s agent, Anton Thun, told David Shoalts of Toronto's The Globe and Mail on Wednesday. “They anticipate taking him out of intensive care [Wednesday night] and running tests to determine why he collapsed.”

MacLean, 23, collapsed during a pickup game in Owen Sound, Ont. He was taken to a hospital there before being airlifted to a facility in his hometown of London, Ont.
