Reports: Hall of Famer Larry Robinson to be assistant for San Jose Sharks

Larry Robinson, a nine-time Stanley Cup champion as a player and coach, will become associate coach for the San Jose Sharks, according to multiple reports.

Robinson won six Stanley Cups in his Hall of Fame playing career. He played defense for the Montreal Canadiens during the 1970s when the team won titles in 1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979 and 1986.

He spent most of his coaching career with the New Jersey Devils. As head coach in 2000, he led the team to a Stanley Cup. He also won a pair of titles with New Jersey as an assistant.
