Former LSU female soccer player Mo Isom fails to make football team as placekicker

Former LSU women's soccer goalkeeper Mo Isom failed in her try to make the football team as a placekicker, she announced on Twitter Friday.

Isom first went out for the team in spring practice and head coach Les Miles told her to come back in the summer if she made improvements and told her to concentrate on extra points and field goals, reports CBSSports.com.

Walk-on tryouts for kickers where held earlier this week and Miles said that Isom "made a couple and missed a couple."

Isom, also a homecoming queen, was bidding to have become the first female football player in SEC history and the second in FBS history. Former Colorado and New Mexico kicker Katie Hnida was the first.
