New York Knicks center Marcus Camby will be out a week to 10 days after straining his left calf, Newsday's Al Iannazzone reported via Twitter on Sunday.

The injury means that Camby will miss the Knicks' first two preseason games — their preseason opener against the Wizards in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 11 and an Oct. 13 game in Hartford, Conn., against the Boston Celtics.

The Knicks are hoping this isn't the start of a trend for an aging roster. The 38-year-old Camby is part of the oldest team in the league's history. Camby signed a three-year, $13.1 million deal. He told teammates that he was "surprised" by the length of the deal, according to the New York Daily News.
