Bruins center Patrice Bergeron left Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals early with an apparent leg injury.

Bergeron was not on the Bruins' bench at the start of the third period, and the Bruins official Twitter announced he had been taken to a local hospital for observation.

The team is not disclosing what the injury is at this time. Bergeron played just 49 seconds in the second period, and a total of 6:06 for the night before leaving the game early.

He had three goals in his previous two games. Rookie Carl Soderberg is filling in for Bergeron.
