Michigan offensive tackle Taylor Lewan denied that he assaulted an Ohio State fan last month and was one of several people interviewed by police investigating the incident.

The fan, Ryan Munsch, told the Detroit Free Press that Lewan punched his friend and then punched him in the face and in the ribs in Ann Arbor on Nov. 30.

Lewan has not been arrested or charged in the incident.

“I’m not going to get into too many details,” Lewan told the Arizona Republic. “I wasn’t in any fight. I didn’t hit anybody. I was really just trying to help out a situation and break up something. I can’t really go into any more details than that.”

Michigan plays Kansas State in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on Saturday.
