Northern Irish professional golfer Rory McIlroy started 2014 by proposing to tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, a former World No. 1 on the WTA Tour.

McIlroy and Wozniacki began dating in the summer of 2011, after McIlroy split with his previous girlfriend. They have been dating for the last two and a half years and frequently attend the other's sporting events.

The couple endured frequent false breakup rumors by the tabloids and have had a very public relationship from the start.
