The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms with free agent defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk on a two-year contract, which will go into effect next season, reports ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers.

The 22-year-old junior defenseman from the University of New Hampshire was one of the top college free agents. Prior to injuring his left leg against Union College in January, van Riemsdyk had four goals and 19 assists in 26 games.
