NBA commissioner Adam Silver says that the NBA "might move" to a playoff format that awarded spots to the teams with the 16 best records, regardless of conference, according to Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News.
The commissioner made the comments while visiting with the San Antonio broadcasting booth while at Friday night's Phoenix Suns- San Antonio Spurs game.
The change in format has received a lot of talk this season as competition for the West's eight playoff spots has garnered much stronger competition, while at least one sub-.500 team will get a postseason bid in the Eastern conference.
