TNT sideline reporter Craig Sager will likely sit out this year's NBA playoffs while battling acute leukemia, according to a tweet from his son on Thursday night (via Deadspin).
Sager’s son, Craig Sager Jr., tweeted that the treatment is expected to take 3-4 weeks and the two would be “watching lots of basketball together these playoffs.”
ESPN's Keith Olbermann confirmed Sager's condition Thursday night as part of a tribute to his longtime colleague at Turner.
TNT has not officially commented on Sager's availability for this year's NBA postseason broadcasts.
