Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel's job is safe, Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard said in a Twitter post on Thursday.

Various reports said Wednesday that Vogel was coaching for his job after the Pacers lost game one in their first-round playoff series to the eighth-seeded Atlanta Hawks.

ESPN.com reported that winning the Atlanta series would not automatically ensure Vogel's return for next season.

Despite a catastrophic slide that saw the team lose 14 of its last 30 games after the All-Star break, the Pacers still clinched the top seed in the Eastern Conference and finished 56-26.

The Pacers are tied at one game apiece with the Hawks in their best-of-seven series, after Indiana's 101-85 win in Game 2. Game 3 is Thursday in Atlanta.
