Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Nicklas Grossman left Game 4 of the team's series against the New York Rangers early and will not return, according to Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com.

Grossman's injury occurred just over five minutes into the second period when his skates lost their edge and he slid into the boards where one of he briefly became stuck and Rangers center Derick Brassard could not avoid colliding with him.

The game was tied 1-1 when Grossman left, but the Flyers have since taken a 2-1 lead.
