Unsigned guard Devonte Graham will attend Kansas next season, giving the Jayhawks another top recruit, reports ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman.

Graham's announcement comes a day after starting point guard Naadir Tharpe announced he was leaving the program to be closer to home.

"I think that was part of it," Graham said to ESPN.com. "He was a big part of their program and played a lot. If he had stayed, I'm not sure if I would be going to Kansas."

Virginia and North Carolina State were also in the mix to land Graham, who originally signed with Appalachian State but not was not allowed to get out of his letter of intent.

Graham, listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, will compete with Frank Mason and Conner Frankamp for minutes at the guard spot. The Jayhawks also return Wayne Selden and Brannen Greene and bring in top recruits Cliff Alexander and Kelly Oubre next season.

"It's kind of crazy to go from Appalachian State to Kansas," Graham said. I hit it off with the coaching staff and the players," Graham said. "I could see myself fitting into their style of play."
