California Chrome wins 2014 Kentucky Derby
Favored to win 2-1, California Chrome was the horse to beat.
This year's favorite, California Chrome, won the 140th Kentucky Derby.
Chrome was the heavy favorite to win this year; he was the betting favorite at 2-1 and the horse to beat.
Chrome became the accidental favorite when he won Santa Anita on April 5. Trainer Todd Pletcher said in the days leading up to the race that "we're all just wondering if California Chrome is as good as he appears to be."
