Blackhawks' Andrew Shaw leaves Game 1 early

Chicago Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw took a hard hit from Minnesota Wild defenseman Clayton Stoner in the first period of Friday night's playoff game and left the ice, with the team announcing he would not return to the opening game of the second round series.
Shaw appeared to limp off the ice with roughly eight minutes left on the clock in the first period of Game 1 and did not return to the ice for the second period. The team did not announce whether it was an upper or lower body injury, but Tracey Myers of Comcast SportsNet reports that he appeared to be favoring his right leg as he left the game.
Shaw has been strong on the offensive end of the ice for the defending champs in this year's playoffs with two goals and two assists in their first round win over the St. Louis Blues.
