Chicago Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw will not return to the team for Game 6 of their series against the Minnesota Wild, according to Mark Lazerus of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Shaw left the series opener in the first period after being hit into the boards by the Wild's Clayton Stoner, and has yet to return to the ice due to a lower body injury. Chicago coach Joel Quenneville was optimistic last week that Shaw would return from the injury soon but the team has not seen the necessary progress, reports ESPN Chicago's Scott Powers.

"He's a very competitive guy. He would have done anything he could to play. We got to tame him a little bit in that regard, so maybe that was what we were talking about at the time."

Shaw had four points in the playoffs before his injury and was averaging 15:54 minutes on the ice.
