Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey will miss the team's first four games of next season after violating the league's performance enhancing substance abuse policy, according to a tweet Monday afternoon from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

A source close to the 23-year-old told Rapoport that he did not take the substance, but it's not clear at this time exactly what substance reportedly led the NFL to levy the suspension. Stedman was taken in the third round last year by the Rams after starring at West Virginia.

St. Louis made headlines over the weekend after selecting Michael Sam, the first openly gay athlete to be selected in the NFL Draft.
