The Washington Capitals' Alex Ovechkin suffered a leg injury during Russia's matchup with Germany in the World Championships on Sunday and was seen leaving in an ambulance, according to Slava Malamud of Sport-Express.

An evaluation is still pending, but Malamud reports that sources close to the situation said "it's pretty bad." The 28-year-old former first overall pick by the Capitals was unable to support his own weight when he was helped off the ice.
