Earthquakes place Gray, Denton on waivers

Defenders Kelly Gray and Eric Denton have been placed on waivers by the San Jose Earthquakes.

Denton lost his left- back spot to 23-year-old Mike Zaher this season. Gray was pushed further down the pecking order with the arrival of Aaron Pitchkolan.

San Jose is currently in last place in the Western Conference with only 12 points from 14 games. As such, the club continues to make moves to player personnel. Earlier, the Bay Area team moved defender Nick Garcia to Toronto FC and forward Cam Weaver to the Houston Dynamo.
