Guzan, Aston Villa beat Juve for Peace Cup

U.S. keeper Brad Guzan stopped two shots to help Aston Villa win the Peace Cup with a shootout victory over Italian giant Juventus in the final in Seville, Spain.

The final marked the third straight game 20-year-old defender Eric Lichaj started at right back for Villa.

Juventus had upset Real Madrid in the semifinals of the tournament formerly held in South Korea but could not beat Guzan in the final. The former Chivas USA keeper came up with several big stops to keep the game scoreless.

Guzan then saved shots by Vincenzo Iaquinta and Alessandro Del Piero in the shootout that went six rounds.

Guzan was the backup last season to Villa's third American, Brad Friedel.
