Germany-Argentina World Cup final sets social media records

The World Cup final between Germany and Argentina set social media records on both Twitter and Facebook, according to the two sites.
Twitter reported there were 618,725 tweets per minute discussing the game.

Twitter also created a map showing how frequently users tweeted around the globe during the game:

Facebook also posted record engagement numbers during the final. It reported 88 million people combined for more than 280 million interactions during the game.
