Chelsea has agreed to sell striker Demba Ba to Turkish club Besiktas for a fee of around £8 million ($13.7 million), reports the Daily Mail

The report says that Besitkas president Fikret Orman confirmed that the price has been negotiated and will be officially announced when the deal is final. Chelsea was originally asking for £10 million ($17.1 million) for Ba, a 29-year-old who has also played for the Senegal national team since 2007.

"Demba Ba is an excellent player," Orman said. "We have been in talks with Chelsea for a long time over bringing him to Istanbul."

Back in April, Ba stated his intent to likely leave Chelsea at the end of the season, having often lost out for playing time to fellow strikers Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto'o. When Chelsea signed striker Diego Costa this summer, it was clear Ba would be on his way out.

Chelsea acquired Ba from Newcastle in 2012 after the striker scored 29 goals in two Premier League seasons for the Magpies.
