UEFA punishes 3 European clubs for racism from fans
UEFA punished three Champions League clubs for fans racist behavior at matches last month, UEFA's Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body announced Tuesday.
UEFA, Europe’s governing soccer body, says that Steaua, Maribor and Debrecen must close stadium sections at the next Champions League or Europa League match they host.
Steaua Bucharest’s punishment starts Wednesday, when two sections of the National Arena will be closed for the club's match against Aktobe in a third qualifying round, second-leg match.
Maribor must close sector 'Jug' of its stadium after racist behavior during a 2-0 victory over Zrinjski of Bosnia-Herzegovina on July 22.

Debrecen was ordered to partially close portions of its stadium for its next match after fans showed an "illicit banner" during a 2-0 win over Cliftonville on July 22.
UEFA says it has a zero-tolerance policy towards racism and discrimination on the pitch and in the stands.
"All forms of racist behavior are considered serious offenses against the disciplinary regulations and are punished with the most severe sanctions," UEFA said.
