Landon Donovan Farewell Tour: LA Galaxy's remaining MLS dates, TV info
With Landon Donovan announcing his retirement from soccer on Thursday, the farewell tour for one of the United States' greatest players can begin in earnest. However, the majority of MLS cities probably won't get a chance to see Donovan in person before he rides off into the sunset.
Since the MLS Eastern and Western conference teams play each other home and away on alternate years, eight of the 10 Eastern Conference cities won't get the chance to see one final regular season game from Donovan in person following his announcement. In addition to those eastern locations, the Galaxy will not visit the Western Conference duo of Real Salt Lake or the Portland Timbers before the playoffs begin and won't play either of those teams prior to his retirement unless they meet in the playoffs (and that, of course, is assuming the teams reach the postseason).

The other teams with Landon-less regular season run-ins are all from the Eastern Conference: Sporting Kansas City, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, Houston Dynamo, and the Chicago Fire. If any of those five want to say goodbye to Donovan, they'll need to meet the Galaxy in the MLS Cup final.
On the other hand, Donovan's farewell tour will include a good amount of interesting games. The MLS and U.S. national team's all-time scoring leader will take on his former club the San Jose Earthquakes in two California Clásicos, the first one of which takes place this weekend. Donovan will also line up opposite another of MLS' marquee stars, Thierry Henry, when the New York Red Bulls visit Los Angeles on Sept. 28. The Galaxy's season ends in a somewhat strange manner, with two straight games, home and away, against Clint Dempsey's Seattle Sounders.
