Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri underwent groin surgery and will miss one month, according to BBC Sport

Nasri missed last week's 7-0 Capital One Cup victory over Sheffield and 4-2 Premier League win at Hull due to the problem.

City manager Manuel Pellegrini said the surgery was considered the best option by doctors.

"He was training but he wasn’t 100 percent and he wasn’t comfortable with what he was doing so the doctor decided it was the best option," said Pellegrini.

The 27-year old signed a new five-year deal with City in July. He has played for City for the past three seasons and has won two Premier League titles and the League Cup.
