Watch: Francesco Totti sets record for oldest goal scorer in Champions League

It only took one half play for a record to be broken on Champions League Tuesday, and it was Old Man River…er…Francesco Totti who broke it.

With his goal against Manchester City, the A.S. Roma legend wrote himself into the history books as the oldest goal scorer in Champions League history, at 38 years and three days young.

Thing is, Totti's run leading up to the goal looked more like a man a decade younger. But the in-stride, outside-of-the-foot finish was the telltale mark of someone who has been doing this for a very, very long time.

Totti broke the record previously owned by Ryan Giggs, who scored for Manchester United against Benfica in 2011. This is Totti's22nd professional season, all of which have come with Roma.
