Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge returned to training Wednesday for the first time August. "Happy to be back," Sturridge tweeted.

Many Liverpool players are away from the club with their respective national teams, so Sturridge will not participate in a full training session until the international break is over.

Sturridge injured his hamstring while on international duty with England in August. He suffered a setback in October when he strained a calf muscle.

Lukas Podolski may consider leaving Arsenal over lack of playing time

Sturridge told British sports network BT Sport earlier this week that he hopes to return for Liverpool's next game, on Nov. 23 against Crystal Palace.

Sturridge has missed 14 matches with the injury. Liverpool is currently 11th in the Premier League.
