Aston Villa has sacked manager Paul Lambert, the club announced on Wednesday. 

Lambert had been the team's manager since 2012. In 115 games with the club, his teams had 34 wins, 26 draws and 55 losses, and never finished higher than 15th in the Premier League.

First-team coach Scott Marshall and goalkeeping coach Andy Marshall will prepare Aston Villa for its next game, an FA Cup match with Leicester City on Sunday. The club said it will announce a new manager "in due course."

Aston Villa is currently in 18th place in the Premier League with 22 points. Its next EPL game is on Feb. 21 against Stoke City.
