Blas Perez stoppage-time header gives FC Dallas win over Earthquakes.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Blas Perez scored on a header in the 92nd minute and FC Dallas beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 in the season opener for both teams Saturday night.

Perez was six yards out when he redirected a blast that Moises Hernandez sent wide. It was Perez's 32nd career MLS goal.

The Earthquakes applied the early pressure, forcing FC Dallas goalkeeper Chris Seitz to make both of his saves in the first 10 minutes. Seitz earned his sixth career shutout.

San Jose goalkeeper David Bingham was two minutes away from his first career MLS shutout.

FC Dallas is coming off its first appearance in the MLS Cup playoffs in three years, a run that ended in the Western Conference quarterfinals.

The loss extends the Quakes' franchise-record winless streak to 16 games in coach Dominic Kinnear's return to the club after a 10-year absence.
