Arjen Robben to miss Netherlands’ next two matches

Netherlands forward Arjen Robben has officially pulled out of the squad’s Euro qualifiers against Turkey and Spain, Fox Sports reports.

While playing for Bayern Munich on Sunday, Robben suffered a torn abdominal muscle in the 2-0 loss to Borussia Monchengladbach. 

The Dutch Football Federation issued the following statement confirming Robben's status. 

“Arjen Robben has informed national coach Guus Hiddink of his withdrawal for the upcoming matches of the Dutch team against Turkey and Spain.

“Hiddink will decide at a later stage if he will call up a replacement for the injured Robben.”

The Netherlands is scheduled to face Turkey in a Euro 2016 qualifier on Saturday. The team will then play a friendly against Spain on March 31.

In 22 games this season for Bayern Munich, Robben has scored 17 goals with seven assists.
