Bayern's Ribery, Schweinsteiger out for UCL quarterfinal vs. Porto

Bayern Munich midfielders Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribéry will not play in the first leg of the squad’s Champions League quarterfinal against Porto on Wednesday, the club announced Monday.
Champions League quarterfinals have favorites drawn apart, final rematch
Ribery has not played since March 11 because of an ankle injury, and Schweinsteiger will not play in the match because of a viral infection. The team said neither player will travel to Portugal.
“It’s a real shame but Bastian and Franck can’t come with us,” sporting director Matthias Sammer said. "Claudio Pizarro will also make the trip. Pep will now decide whether to take along another of our young players.”
Sammer said that defender Jérôme Boateng will return to the squad after sitting out Saturday’s 3-0 Bundesliga win as a precaution because of a muscle injury.
