Real Madrid's Gareth Bale injures calf, doubtful for UCL match vs. Atletico
Real Madrid midfielder Gareth Bale has an injured calf muscle in his left leg and his status for Wednesday's match against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals is in doubt, the team announced Monday.
Bale was injured in the first five minutes of Madrid's 3-1 Spanish League win over Malaga on Saturday.
The team said that Bale has “a muscle injury in the soleus muscle of the left leg” and his progress will be monitored.

Madrid will also be without injured midfielder Luka Modric for the match against Atletico.
Bale has two goals and one assist in seven Champions League matches this season. He also has 13 goals and seven assists in 28 La Liga matches for Real Madrid.
