According to the report, the assault took place in Zapopan, a city adjacent to Guadalajara, where Torres is currently playing for Liga MX club Chivas on loan from the Dynamo. In Zapopan, the victim attended a party that was being held for Chivas players at a motel, where she alleges she was drugged and assaulted by Torres.

Speaking to reporters at Chivas training today, Torres briefly denied the accusations then refused to answer further questions.

Torres is scheduled to join the Houston Dynamo later this summer following the completion of his loan. The Dynamo signed him to a Designated Player contract in the offseason after his former MLS club Chivas USA folded, then immediately loaned him back to his hometown club as part of an agreement between MLS and Chivas. Torres scored 22 goals over two seasons with Chivas USA, including 15 in 29 games last season.
